cool dude
Trip loves to wear our sunglasses, so we bought him a pair of his own. He puts them on himself (sometimes upside down and off center!) and will wear them for long periods of time. It makes me laugh so hard every time I see him cruising around in his cool sunglasses ... I can only imagine the thoughts going through his growing brain.

Boerne Berges Fest
Just people watching ...
The high school mascot, a Charger (which I assume is a horse based on the costume, otherwise I would not have known what a charger was), came to say hello to Trip.
His reaction was priceless! I felt so bad for him, but I promise he only cried for a second. Once the horse walked away he was perfectly fine.

Parade
My good friend's little girle, Mattie.
The Berges Fest "Court"
Trip watching the parade go by. It was extremely hot outside, but he seemed to enjoy it.

The Best Dad
I have been without a computer for more than a week now, so I am late posting about my amazing husband/Trip's amazing father. The plan for the weekend was to relax, but J ended up helping a close friend build a fort in his backyard as a surprise for his 4 boys. They spent many hours in the hot sun building the entire thing from scratch. J continues to amaze me as a husband, father and friend. He is the best in every way!Posted by Rachael at 9:26 PM 0 comments

Fire & Water
Our part of the country has had some massive storms and floods lately. Last week, during one of the storms, Anna and I decided to go catch a girlie movie while J and Trip were out of town. We pulled down our street around 11 p.m. to find a police officer parked in front of our house. We pulled up to ask what was the matter, and he pointed up and said, "Your tree is on fire" ... something we had not noticed. A branch had fallen on a power line during the storm. So, we went and quickly got the dogs out of the house, and then watched as the fire department, police department, and the public works department worked to quickly put out the fire and cut down the tree branches. One of the men joked that J would probably add trimming the trees to the next City Council agenda! You've got to love living in a small town.
