What kind of flu did you say?

Despite the numerous airline patrons with swine flu proof face masks
on, Rachael, Trip and I are taking a little trip to Missouri this
weekend. Thanks to some airline cutbacks we have a layover in the DFW
airport so I thought I would post this picture of Trip on his way onto
his first plane. He was pumped! Right when we sat down he passed out
in my lap and woke up when we landed, gave me a thumbs up and then
went back to sleep again. Can't beat that.

This is Trip just yesterday. He is about a month and a half old now and looks totally different to me from when he was just a few weeks. Most of his dark hair has fallen out and a light brown/dirty blond color is coming in its place. I think he weighs 11 or 12 lbs. now and he is much chunkier! He is also much more expressive and alert now, although he still naps plenty! He recognizes his parents' faces and voices and our favorite time together is in the early mornings before J leaves for work when Trip joins us in bed. That is when he is most awake and playful! I never thought I would love the mornings so much!

This picture was taken on my birthday just a few days after Trip was born. You can see I still look a little out of it, but my mom and sister were kind enough to get me a delicious cake from a the bakery down the street. The piece I had was wonderful ... J and my mom finished it off!

Shower time!

Trip and I got all cleaned up tonight. You could say it was a big
Friday night at the Kupers. There are tons of options for baby
cleaning when you walk the aisles at Babies R Us but I prefer the ol'
'put him in the shower when you take one' method. Gets the job done in
half the time and you don't have to buy some plastic thing you will
only use once. Plus, the kid loves it... Look at his face. I think I
remember the doctor saying that if your baby looks confused, then he
is happy. Trips face tells me he is living the dream!

So, I haven't posted in a little while and have been bad these past few weeks about taking pictures. Fortunately, I have taken a few on my cell phone to send to my mom, so I thought I'd share some of those here. The two below are from a few weeks ago when Trip still had a full head of hair. These shots were taken within seconds of each other ... you can see how quickly his mood can change!

I just thought this yawn was adorable!This picture shows how much of his hair has fallen out. He has a major receding hair line and a little bit of a comb over!I took this one this morning because I thought he looked so cute and chubby! I took Trip to the doctor yesterday morning because he has a cold and he weighed in at a whopping 10 lbs. 13 oz! That's a gain of more than 3 lbs. since his last appointment 3 weeks ago.
