Sunny Days

I say this each year, but truly, this is the best time to live in South Texas. Most days are sunny and 65 degrees, with a few scattered days of cold or rain. Just enough cold to want a cup of hot cocoa and to build a fire. You need a jacket in the shade but not in the sun.

We've been soaking it up after several days of rain kept us indoors. We have made frequent visits to the park, and took a trip to the Zoo with good friends on Friday. With our new zoo pass, courtesy of Cupcake, we plan to be there a lot this winter and spring before the summer crowds and heat come. If you've never been to the San Antonio Zoo, I highly recommend it. It is well shaded and they have a water area and a toddler area.

Jackaboo, who is officially a spoiled indoor dog, has really loved the warm weather. He was not a fan of going to the bathroom in the rain. Who would be? This funny creature has also developed major separation anxiety. So, when the kids and I run errands or go places during the day, he has been joining us. This has been nice for several reasons: First, he cleans up any car crumbs the kids leave behind. Second: I don't have to worry about my purse getting stolen, something that happened to my best friend last week :(

Even though she is super girly, Anna Kate loves being outside and getting dirty. Many of her babies have suffered the consequences.

I have to admit that with baby number three came a lot more TV time for my kids. I hate that. But it's true. And unfortunately, Trip LOVES TV. Anna Kate not so much. So after a week of rain, and a lot of TV, it was like pulling teeth to get Trip to play outside. That broke my heart. But, after a day without (much) television, Trip was back to being my adventurous outdoor-loving boy. He sat in our driveway playing with mud the other evening for a solid hour before I made him come in for baths before dinner. I was so happy to see him so dirty. There is just something about a dirty little boy that is so right.

I took this picture of Anna Kate the other day. When I uploaded it to the computer, I realized how much it reminded me of the picture I have hanging above my desk of Trip when he was around 2 years old.  The angle and lighting is different, but those profiles sure are similar! Love those cute noses, long eye lashes, and full lips and cheeks. Sweet babies.

Happy January!

Big Boy!

This chubby boy is 17 pounds and he isn't even 4 months old!! I wish there was a pause button I could push on these growing kids.

Curse you Instagram!

My two excuses for a lack of blog posts ... Keeping up with 3 kiddos, and Instagram. Taking pictures on my phone is significantly easier than getting out the camera and uploading pictures to the computer.

I promise to be better about taking "real" pictures and blogging in the future. Until then, here are a few Instagram favorites ...

Three Months

Wills has had a bit of a rough month dealing with congestion and sickness but still manages to be a really sweet baby. He is a big boy weighing in at 15 lbs. and wearing 6 month clothes. He is a happy baby smiling and laughing all the time. He loves to be held and snuggled. He found his hands and grabs at toys in his play gym.

Wills can melt my heart with a smile. We love him so much and it is hard to believe he has only been in our lives for 3 months!
