Trip/Jovie 2.5 month comparisson

Trip and I got to spend a little bit of time with Kat and Jovie when they were in town last week picking up Mark. It is always fun to see these two next to each other. Jovie is 5 days older than Trip, but they are definitely very different! Jovie is such a sweet dainty little girl and Trip such a big boy! I love these pictures because I think they represent what Trip and Jovie's relationship will be like as they grow up. Trip is reaching out to grab Jovie's hand and she is obviously not interested. Hopefully she continues to stand her ground and totally ignore any boy that is trying to hold hands with her!

Visit with the Jains

Our good friends Priti and Suneel Jain came to San Antonio for the day yesterday before heading on to Austin for a short vacation. It was so good to see them and catch up. Priti and I shared the same due date (March 17) and had our babies on the same day (March 9) one year apart! Below are some pictures of Suneel and Priti holding Trip and a cute picture of their little girl, Syra.

Baby Cow

This post is a shout out to Aunty Johanna ... Trip in the adorable cow bath towel she gave him!

Uncle Buck

Last night we were able to see Trip's Uncle Collins (aka Uncle Buck) who was in town for work. We met for dinner at the usual Kuper Family watering hole, La Fonda, in San Antonio. It's pretty unbelievable to see how Collins has transitioned into being so comfortable holding Trip now compared to when Trip was just a few hours old. It's easy to see already how these two will grow to be best buds!

I see myself!

Trip has learned to recognize himself in the mirror and is starting to grab at toys with his hands. In the pictures above he is playing with the MP3 player music mirror my sister Whitney gave him ... it's really cool because you just hook your iPod up to it and the music plays through a speaker in the mirror. If you can't tell by how mellowed out Trip is, he is jamming to Jack Johnson! My family might also appreciate the Mizzou t-shirt and pants he is wearing - Go Tigers!

TV time with Dad

Hopefully TV at such an early age doesn't impact Trip developmentally! If Trip turns out to be a TV junkie, I blame his father.

My first Mother's Day

Thanks to my wonderful husband, this was a fantastic first Mother's Day! He gave me a Bluetooth to make it easier for me to talk on the phone while holding Trip. We ate a wonderful brunch at the Cypress Grill here in Boerne. And the best part of the day was the long nap I took while J took care of our little man. Then, we ate dinner with J's family in San Antonio. All in all, a fabulous day!

Our first family picture ... Isn't that terrible!?!

Swimming!

This Saturday (Trip's 2 month birthday) we took a family trip to the San Antonio Country Club where Trip sported his first bathing suit and took a little dip in the pool. J and I just can't believe that Trip has grown so fast ... as you can see in the pictures below! We have his 2 month doctor appointment tomorrow and I have a feeling he has almost doubled his birth weight. It's hard to believe that just two months ago he was wearing premie clothes!

Sweet Mornings!

I have posted about this before, but the early morning hours with Trip are some of my favorite. I took these pictures in my parents' living room with two story tall windows around the time the sun was coming up. He couldn't take his eyes off of the light coming through the trees.

Trip Visits Missouri

This weekend we were able to take Trip on his first cross-country trip to Missouri to meet my brothers, sister Whitney and lots of other new people! I know I am biased, but I think I have the best baby on the face of the planet for traveling with ... my opinion was only reinforced by all of the people on the 4 plane rides who confirmed it. Trip was a joy to travel with, which is good because we will be traveling a lot this summer! Here is a picture of Trip, J and me in the DFW airport during a layoverWhen we finally got into Columbia at 11 p.m., my brothers were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first nephew. Watching them hold Trip for the first time was priceless!

Trip meeting his Aunt Whitney for the first time the next day.
Another reason for our visit was to attend a "Sip and See" baby shower that my mom's good friends threw for us. It was such a wonderful gesture and it was so good to see many of the "moms" that I grew up around. I received lots of good advice and generous gifts. Below is a picture of me, mom, Trip and our hostesses along with a few other good snapshots from the shower.

(I love this picture of Anna holding Trip! One of my all-time favorites)
After the shower, we ate BBQ and hung out at the house. This was the last time we will all be together until Christmas because my brother Trett is going to China for the next 7 months. Our time in Missouri was wonderful and it was so great for Trip to experience my hometown ... a place I hope he will come to love even if he is a true Texan! I cherish the sweet time we were able to spend with my family and can't wait for the next time we are all together.
