bye bye nanny
Trip watching Anna ("Nanny") drive away.
It is always very sad these days when anyone leaves. Trip yells "Bye Bye!" and whines like he will never see the person again. Of course, he even does this when someone is simply going outside to get the mail and coming right back in. His mind doesn't quite grasp the concept of time, or the phrase, "I'll be right back," so this leaves a very sad little toddler.

Birthday/Reunion Weekend
A few weekends ago we traveled North to Austin to visit my best friends, Johanna and Mackenzie, and to celebrate Jo's baby girl's first birthday! It was so much fun to see Jo and Kenze, but we were sad to be missing our fourth college roommate, Kelli.
Me and the birthday girl! I think she is possibly the funniest little girl in the world. She makes the cutest most excited little noises and has such an adorable walk. I was glad for the few days, but sad not to see her more often :(
Trip and Ainsley enjoying the pool in the backyard.
... And their overbearing mothers trying to assist in the pool time fun. I'm sure they were thinking, just leave us be, we know what we're doing here!
Me and my boy.

Celebrity
Trip made it in the newspaper in Moberly, Missouri! His "Cappy" is a dentist there, and had the local paper put together this ad for his practice. Of course, even though my mom specified how to spell Trip's name and told them that he is 16 months old, they made a few errors. This is probably something Trip will have to get used to. I told him it is all part of the price of fame!Posted by Rachael at 6:07 PM 0 comments

The BIG 30!
That's right - J is officially an old man! We celebrated his 30th birthday with his family in San Antonio this weekend. He was showered with great gifts and lots of love this year, and I must say I think he deserved it! Happy Birthday J!

(Monkey has seen better days)
(My view into "Trip's Playland")
(Trip walks like a T-Rex with his arms all scrunched up by his chest)

Walking?
For almost a month now, Trip has been capable of walking ... but only this past week has he decided that it is something HE wants to do. He is still a much quicker crawler when getting from point A to point B, and he is still a bit wobbly on his feet. But, now that he has walked across and around the room on multiple occasions, I can officially say I have a walker. Can't I?

Independence Day
I love that Anna caught Trip with his finger up his nose. I'm sure we will use to this to embarrass him in later years!
To celebrate the 4th of July, we barbecued with new friends and watched the fireworks show put on by our local fire department. Trip was mesmerized by they flash and bang of the fireworks, and with each one he exclaimed, "Wow!" and pointed. He kept looking at us like, Are you all seeing what I'm seeing here? This is amazing!

time flying by
It feels like I am always behind the camera, so I had Anna take this pic of me and my baby boy. It will be too soon that I won't be able to call him that, so I am taking this moment to cherish those sweet chubby cheeks, the way he says "Momma", the rolls on his cute thighs, his speedy crawl across the room to get to a toy he wants or to run away from "monster Dad", and the way he gives "loves" and kisses on demand. At what point does your child become too old to expect a kiss on the mouth? I'm sure that day will be here before I know it, so I am demanding all of the kisses I can get now!
