future voter

Yesterday we took a family field trip to the courthouse to vote in the primary. We want community involvement and national pride to be values that Trip is raised with. Of course, Trip is really too young to vote, so the ladies working the polls were sweet enough to give him a "Future Voter" sticker, which he quickly removed and tried to eat!

11-month update

Height: not sure, can't get him to hold still for long enough to measure
(hence my sister, Anna, holding him down for his 11-month growth shot)
Weight: same as last month, 22 lbs. ... he keeps getting longer, and is more mobile, so he hasn't gained anything

Development: I feel like this month was a big one. Trip is crawling, climbing, parroting, eating table food and has definitely developed an attitude! He is into everything, but mostly all of the things he should NOT be into. He has two top and two bottom teeth. He can repeat a few words, but sadly has not caught on to Mommy :(

Likes: Trip loves attention. This has become quite the inconvenience as I try and get things done around the house. He always wants someone watching him or holding him ... which leads to his dislikes ...

Dislikes: Our weekly trips to Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) where he screams bloody murder and grips onto my neck for dear life every time I drop him off at the nursery and doesn't stop crying until I pick him up an hour and a half later. This is terribly sad and embarrassing all at the same time! There are lots of excuses I've made for my son for this behavior ... He never acts this way at other nurseries, there are too many babies in his room, the environment is unfamiliar still ... but at the end of the day, I am afraid I have created a true Mommy's boy.

Fun Moments: Today at the grocery store, I made the mistake of not strapping Trip in to the grocery cart. I turned away for two seconds and when I turned back half of his body was hanging out of the cart, hands gripping the aisle shelf, and an HEB price sticker coming out of his mouth! The cost of one wild baby boy ... $7.99.

Aunt "N-Anna"

Trip's Aunt Anna (he pronounces it N-Anna) came to visit this weekend. She brought him this cute TCU onesie and taught him how to say her name! We love you Anna, thanks for visiting!
