Trip Visits Missouri

This weekend we were able to take Trip on his first cross-country trip to Missouri to meet my brothers, sister Whitney and lots of other new people! I know I am biased, but I think I have the best baby on the face of the planet for traveling with ... my opinion was only reinforced by all of the people on the 4 plane rides who confirmed it. Trip was a joy to travel with, which is good because we will be traveling a lot this summer! Watching them hold Trip for the first time was priceless!

Another reason for our visit was to attend a "Sip and See" baby shower that my mom's good friends threw for us. It was such a wonderful gesture and it was so good to see many of the "moms" that I grew up around. I received lots of good advice and generous gifts. After the shower, we ate BBQ and hung out at the house. This was the last time we will all be together until Christmas because my brother Trett is going to China for the next 7 months. Our time in Missouri was wonderful and it was so great for Trip to experience my hometown ... a place I hope he will come to love even if he is a true Texan! I cherish the sweet time we were able to spend with my family and can't wait for the next time we are all together.
